Sanford Webster Announces Addition of New Imaging Technology

07/02/2010
Committed to providing quality healthcare close to home, Sanford Webster will be upgrading one of the most advanced diagnostic tools for helping physicians reach confident diagnoses to provide the best patient care. According to Kyle Richards, CEO of Sanford Webster, the new Computed Tomography (CT) Scanner – an 8 slice CT - delivers high quality images of the human body with lowered radiation dose.

This more advanced scanner will allow technologists to get a better picture and they'll also be able to perform more tests than they can on the current 1 slice CT.

“The addition of the system complements and extends the range of quality diagnostic services that Sanford Webster offers residents of Day County,” Richards said. “It provides us with vastly improved image quality and imaging speed, and enhances the overall diagnostic confidence we have in all of our studies.”

This upgraded technology was made possible in part from a $10,000 anonymous donation to Sanford Webster Medical Center.

"Without contributions like this, we couldn't have this kind of technology available to us right here in Webster," Jim Block, Sanford Hospital Webster Board President said. "We are grateful to the donor for assisting us in making this technology available to our patients."

The new CT machine will be located permanently inside Sanford Hospital Webster, making CT scans a safer and more comfortable experience for patients.

The new CT scanner will be operational in July 2010.
